Thirumoorthy Dam

Thirumoorthy Temple is situated at the foot of the Thirumoorthy hills or Thirumoorthi hills adjoining the Thirumoorthy dam.Thirumoorthy Dam (also spelt as Thirumurthy Dam) is 20 kms from Udumalpet on the highway from Palani to Coimbatore. The dam has been constructed adjoining the Thirumurthy Hill. This scenic dam is close to the Amanalingeswarar Temple; close by are a perennial stream and a waterfall. Thirumoorthy Dam is scenically located amidst rolling hills. The panorama of the Anamalai Hills surrounding the shimmering waters of the Reservoir is a sight to behold.This area is a popular spot for shooting films thanks to the beauty of the region. Avinashi Temple

Avinashi is part of the ancient Kongunadu which now comprises the districts of Coimbatore, Salam, Dharmapuri, Karur and Palani. This Place of Great historical importance was known as Thirupukkaliyur in the ancient times. Avinashi temple is located on the Chennai Cochin NH47 highways. The Tamil saying goes Kasiyil Vasi Avinashi meaning that what the devotee derives by worshipping in Kasi-Varanasi, he/she derives half of the benefits by worshipping Avinashilingeswara in Avinashi. Lord Avinashi Appar, Lord Bhairava and the holy water-theertham- are brought from Kasi. Bathing in the Kasi well in the temple on new moon day-Amavasya brings manifold benefits to the devotee. Amaravathi dam

The Amaravathi Dam is a dam constructed on the Amaravati River. It is located at Amaravathinagar, 25 kilometers south of Udumalpet on SH 17 in the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary, Tirupur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Amaravathi Dam at Amaravathinagar, 25 km south on NH 17 from Udumalpet, is located in Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary in Tiruppur district, Tamil Nadu, India. The 9.31 km, 33.53 m deep Amaravathi Reservoir was created by this steep dam. It was built primarily for irrigation and flood control and now also has 4 megawatts of electric generating capacity installed.
